Sponsor Roundup: Week Four

We’re in the final stretch for HoHoTO 2013 – it’s officially less than one week away, and we’re busy, busy, busy, making sure this is the best holiday party in Toronto this year.

Awesome raffle prizes, drink samples, a VIP area, a massive pizza delivery, and massages-by-donation are just some of the tricks we have up our sleeves for the 2013 event – and none of it would be possible without the support and generosity of our amazing sponsors.

We’re thrilled to announce a slew of new sponsors that signed on last week:

Reindeer – TO Tech Wrap
Gingerbread – Mercatus Technologies
Candy Cane – Grossman Dorland RecruitingKnowledge Workers Toronto, O’Reilly MediaRocketWatcher.com, College Mobile
Pizza Sponsor – Panago Pizza (providing pizza to all attendees!)

There’s still one more week to get in on the action by sponsoring HoHoTO and the Daily Bread Food Bank. If you’re not totally convinced yet, check out what some of our recent sponsors have to say about HoHoTO:

“We are extremely happy to be supporting the Daily Bread Food Bank through HoHoTO. It’s admirable how the group has been able to rally our community around such an important cause. It’s very important for businesses to support their communities, and HoHoTO has facilitated that.” 500px

“Mercatus believes in giving back to the community.  HoHoTo provides us with the opportunity to support several important causes via the Daily Bread Food Bank including the supply of food for those in need as well as innovative and realistic solutions that will help people break away from poverty.   Mercatus is truly honored to be sponsoring HoHoTo.”  – Bohdan Zabawskyj, Mercatus Technologies

“O’Reilly Media’s support of HoHoTO stems from our deep commitment to support communities of technologists and entrepreneurs working to make the world a better place. We can’t think of a better way than to offer our support to startups, technologists, and designers who are truly ‘working on stuff that matters.’ ” – Jenn Webb, O’Reilly Radar Online Managing Editor

“We started sponsoring HoHoTO last year because we thought it was a great cause! We collect a small attendance fee from participants all year to cover our costs, and had a bit of money left so thought we would donate it to help people locally, since all of our membership is local.” – Stephanie Barnes, Knowledge Workers Toronto

“The reason we’re supporting HoHoTO is simple: We think its a great cause and helps many people.” – Chad Jones, CEO & Founder, CollegeMobile Inc.

“It’s inspiring to see what a group of dedicated and thoughtful people can accomplish, and the team behind HoHoTO is no exception. Panago Pizza is thrilled to contribute to this year’s event and support the dedicated work of The Daily Bread Food Bank. We believe in building strong and healthy communities, giving back, and working with others to accomplish great things.” – Christie Coughlan, Panago Pizza

If you’re not convinced to sponsor HoHoTO and the Daily Bread Food Bank yet, maybe hearing from one of our awesome week three sponsors will help:

“This year is DevTO’s 3rd year to support HoHoTo and we wanted to continue our tradition of supporting local charities such as The Daily Bread food bank. As you know DevTO gets a ton of support from the community and we feel like especially during this season we can also do our part by supporting this initiative on behalf of the whole DevTO community; including all our generous sponsors, venue providers, speakers and all our attendees. HoHoTO is proof that when people come together they can deliver something really awesome. We hope to see other organizations take HoHoTO as an example of how we all can support charities and communities in a tangible way throughout the year.” DevTO

Sponsor Roundup: Week Two

Things are well underway for this year’s event – we’re dreaming about decking the halls, wishing for a white HoHoTO, and making our naughty and nice lists.

And our week two sponsors? They’ve definitely made their way onto our nice list permanently.

If you’re not convinced to sponsor HoHoTO and the Daily Bread Food Bank yet, maybe these quotes from our awesome sponsors will help:

“Toronto is home base for FreshBooks, this is our community and these are our neighbours. No one should ever go hungry, but unfortunately, many folks do. HoHoTo  is an inspiring example of great people coming together to make a difference. FreshBooks is honoured to take part.”

“For the last 6 years HoHoTO has been a welcome reminder to us all the importance of giving back to the community and taking the time to support the less fortunate- two things that resonate deeply with all of us here at BNOTIONS” -The BNAUTS

“I’ve been a supporter of HoHoTO in one way or another since it began six years ago. It’s wonderful seeing the digital community in Toronto come together to support those less fortunate in our city. The proceeds go directly to Daily Bread Food Bank. I run a small business and fortunately, I’m able to help feed our family and put a roof over our heads. I felt the least I could do was give back by contributing to HoHoTO and help make a difference.” Eden Spodek, digital communication strategist

Give a Little, Get a Lot: Sponsor HoHoTO Today!

You’ve heard about HoHoTO before – or maybe you’ve attended in the past – and now you’re sitting there thinking, “how can I help make HoHoTO awesome?”

Well, we’re glad you asked!

Sponsoring HoHoTO and the Daily Bread Food Bank is one of the best ways you can spread the holiday cheer this season. When you sponsor HoHoTO, you’re actually making a donation straight to the Daily Bread Food Bank, which in turn uses the funds to help feed hungry Torontonians.

The reality of hunger in Canada is sobering – in Toronto alone, more than a million visits were made to food banks last year (and use of food banks has increased 23% on a national level since 2008).

Hunger in our city is real, and it’s a result of a lack of money, not a lack of food.

Since 2008, we've raised over $285,000

Our sponsorship packages start at just $250, and we have a variety of donation levels available. There’s something to suit every business’ budget and plan, and you’ll even get a tax receipt from The Daily Bread Food Bank for your donation.

In addition, you’ll receive a few tickets to the event and drinks with every sponsorship package, but more importantly you get that warm, fuzzy feeling that comes along with doing something really awesome to give back to your community. We’ll also sing your company’s praises from the rooftops (and on our site and at the event), meaning the HoHoTO community near and far will hear just how awesome you are, too.

And if you’re not a business owner? There’s still tons of ways you can help:

  • Talk to your employer and see if they’re interested in sponsoring HoHoTO
  • Get together with a group of friends and pitch in to make a donation
  • Hold a food drive at your work – we can help arrange pick up for the items you collect
  • Tell everyone you know about HoHoTO, and encourage them to attend this years event

If you’re interested in sponsoring, please check out our 2013 sponsorship package for more info, or give me a shout by emailing sponsors@hohoto.ca to get the ball rolling.

After all, without the generous support of our sponsors, we wouldn’t be able to pull off an event like HoHoTO.
